Inrecent years, RSA has experienced increased demand for skills and knowledge associated with the processes espoused by the Project Management Institute and the Software Engineering Institute.

RSA has gathered an impressive pipeline of certified professionals who have accepted full time positions with our clients and who are consultants at all levels of the strategies

We understand current project management certification levels and processes. We also know how to confirm the status of a certification that has been adopted by your organization. We understand the CMM levels of the SEI.

Based upon our practice and the knowledge we have developed over the past five years, we are convinced that the industry breaks itself into three distinct groups. They are:

  • The Theorists
  • The Translators
  • The Practical Appliers
The Theorists

These high level consultants write the books. They are the purists who truly understand the inter-workings of the PMI and CMM processes. These professionals speak at conferences, are available for short-term technology transfer assignments and are the prophets of the disciplines. They typically are not good folks for the long-term application of these processes

The Translators

These folks may be on their way to being purists, but are real world oriented, and can help an organization implant the tools and procedures necessary to transform an organization. Translators introduce and advocate the spread of these concepts throughout the entire corporate organization, not just Information Technology and Information Systems. They are still prophets, and many times get frustrated when the organization just does not rush to accept what they believe is the right thing to do. These folks are mostly consultants, but many times can work as a FTE for two to three years and during that time, establish the PMO with all of its pieces.

The Practical Appliers

As former programmers and analysts, Appliers have lived the world of their peers who are charged with completing a project on time and under budget, even when they have not been consulted on those timelines and budgets. They realize that many times there is not time to completely embrace a new process. With that kind of background, these folks can be effective advocates for change. They establish provable value from adoption of the processes. They easily win the trust of Project Managers, Project Leaders and technical staff.

At RSA, we are committed to understanding where our customer is in their journey to effective project management. Once determined and agreed to by our customer, we then match their requirement to the correct level of Project Management Professional.
